Khune returned to the post for Bafana Bafana for the first time since his ankle injury which kept him out of AFCON qualification phase and the actual tournament in January.
Thabo Mnyamane scored on debut as Bafana Bafana eased past Swaziland 3-1 on Wednesday night.
Mnyamane added to Thulani Hlatshwayo's opener after half-time, before Mandla Masango added the third and final nail in the coffin as Bafana Bafana cruised past their hosts.
According KickOff, Khune said that the game was more like a derby to them and the getting the victory was a vital aspect of the encounter.
“We were disciplined throughout the first 45 [minutes], and it was a great performance overall,” says the shot-stopper.
“I mean it’s always good to play a big match before another big match.
“This was a big match – it was more like a derby for us – because this is our neighbouring country, and for us to test ourselves against them was a very good thing.”
Bafana's next encounter is against Nigeria on Sunday, March 29 at the Mbombela Stadium.
Kick-off is at 15:00.
