Over 1 000 readers (36% of the votes cast) chose the ominous option "No chance, Bafana Bafana are doomed for failure".

Just over 850 readers (30%) preferred to sit on the fence on the topic by selecting the "Maybe, he's got a 50-50 chance of ensuring qualification" option.

Shakes Mashaba's Bafana team received the backing of almost 950 readers (34%), who displayed some optimism in the national side by opting to throw their weight behind the "Yes, he will get the team there with ease" option.
