Fans cavalier about AFCON draw

Cape Town - Bafana Bafana fans exuded an air of confidence ahead of the 2015 African Cup of Nations draw this week.

Shakes Mashaba's men have been drawn alongside Cape Verde, Gabon and DR Congo in Pot 3 meaning they cannot face those sides in the group stage. Bafana could face continent heavyweights Ghana, Ivory Coast, Algeria, Cameroon and Senegal.

Local fans are confident that the national team will not struggle if drawn into the “Group of Death “.

Sport24 readers aired their views about the draw:

Bradley Ngubane said: “Bafana are not like that.... There is no group of death for Bafana, the way they are playing! We are not afraid of anyone! Viva Bafana.”

Jeff Ernie Kometsi said: ”i dont see any threat, we're capable of beating so called big guns infact they should be afraid of us.”

Khali Calitso said: “we hv been in group of death during our qualifications what happened we were group winners jst #Bring it”

Thabo Moremi Mothsoane said: “To be the best you have to beat the "best"

Obed Modisha said: "We need to face the big guns to improve".

The draw for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea will take place on Wednesday, December 3.
