Da Gama names Amaglug-glug squad

Cape Town - Amaglug-glug coach Owen da Gama and his technical team comprising goalkeeper coach Deshi Baktawer and assistant Shaun Bartlett have whittled down the squad to the required number of 18 players ahead of the team leaving for Harare, Zimbabwe on Friday morning.

Da Gama said he was confident of the squad making the country proud.

“This team has what it takes to go all the way. Our vision for now is Rio 2016 Olympics. I don’t see why we should not achieve this goal,” said Da Gama of SAFA's website.

The under-23 leave for Harare on Friday morning and play their Zimbabwean counterparts at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday, July 19 at 15:00.

They return home on Monday morning and will begin preparations for the second leg on 26 July.

Amaglug-glug travelling squad:

Goalkeepers: Ricardo Goss, Jordi February

Defenders: Kwanda Mngonyama, Tshepo Rikhotso, Thabo Makhele, Zitha Macheke, Gino Moeketsi, Tebogo Moerane, Siyabonga Zulu

Midfielders: Abbubakar Mobara, Ayabulela Konqoba, Motjeka Madisha, Keagan Dolly, Maphosa Modiba

Strikers: Simphiwe Kambule, Dumisani Zuma, Siphelele Nthsangase, Siphamandla Dlamini.
