Bafana were unlucky - Mahlangu

Cape Town - Bafana Bafana comeback kid, May Mahlangu, believes that Bafana Bafana played very well against Gambia on Saturday - despite failing to score.

Mahlangu said that looking at the way they played they were just unlucky that they didn't win at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

The Turkish-based midfielder told Sport24 that the players did everything that the coach asked of them and that they created chances but just failed to score.

"We were unlucky. We were very unfortunate, mainly with scoring goals," Mahlangu said.

"The chances we created could have won us a game on any day but not on Saturday.

"We were unlucky on the day after playing very well as a team.”

Bafana Bafana have a chance to rectify their failings in front of goals face when they host Angola in a Youth Day friendly.

Bafana Bafana host Angola at the Cape Town Stadium on Tuesday. The match kicks off at 15:00.
