Bafana v Lesotho game moved

Johannesburg - South Africa’s friendly international against Lesotho has been switched back 24 hours from Saturday June 1 to Sunday June 2 and could be moved away from Maseru.

According to the supersport.com website, the South African Football Association is expected to make an official statement later on Wednesday about a possible venue change but the new date has been confirmed.

Officials are now negotiating to have the match moved from the Basotho capital to Bloemfontein to make logistics easier for Bafana Bafana, who travel afterwards to Cameroon.

Already there have been changes to the fixture, which was originally scheduled to be a night match in Maseru but then switched to an afternoon kick off at the request of broadcasters.

The friendly serves as a warm up for both countries ahead of World Cup assignments in June.

Lesotho play Zambia on June 8 and then host Ghana in Maseru one week later. Bafana Bafana have two away matches in Group B against the Central African Republic on June 8 in Yaounde, Cameroon and Ethiopia on June 16 in Addis Ababa.
