Cape Town - Bafana Bafana and Lokeren midfielder Ayanda Patosi survived a hijacking in Gugulethu in Cape Town on Saturday.
According to the Soccer-Laduma website, Patosi walked away unscathed from the incident, which the police are now investigating.
The hijackers took the car he was driving but Patosi was able to get out and escape safely.
"I was hijacked in Gugulethu on Saturday but I just got out of the car and said nothing. They took the car but the main thing is that we're all safe and well," Patosi said.
Patosi is currently in South Africa during the season break, having returned last weekend after playing for Bafana in Australia and New Zealand.
