Bafana departing for AFCON

Cape Town - Bafana Bafana will depart for Gabon on Wednesday, 7 January 2015 en route to Equatorial Guinea for the CAF Orange Africa Cup of Nations 2015 tournament.

According to safa.net, the squad will now fly directly to Libreville, the capital of Gabon after they were initially scheduled to make an overnight stop in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The South Africans are jetting off at 14:50, but will first meet the Minister of Sport and Recreation, the Honourable Fikile Mbalula, at 11:00 who will wish them well on their assignment.

The Minister will be accompanied by the President of the South African Football Association (SAFA) Dr Danny Jordaan at the Southern Sun Hotel OR Tambo international Airport in Johannesburg.

Fans can meet their heroes at airport around 13:00.
