Bafana announcement runs late

Johannesburg - The announcement of the new Bafana Bafana coach had not yet begun, almost an hour after the scheduled 16:00 start, at the SA Football Association (SAFA) head office in Johannesburg on Saturday.

Both candidates for the position, Steve Komphela and Gordon Igesund, were spotted at the premises.

Igesund, while still waiting for the announcement, sat down with journalists to watch the second half of the Premier Soccer League promotion-relegation match between Chippa United and Santos on television.

Meanwhile, Komphela was seen talking to SAFA vice-president Danny Jordaan on the north side of the building, away from where the media had gathered.
