The 26-year-old had played just four minutes for Mark Hughes' side this season after moving to London in August 2009.
But with Dikgacoi not even on the bench for the derby with Chelsea on Monday, his agent Mike Makaab told Football365.co.za that the deal to join south Londoners Palace will be announced on Wednesday.
"We hope that by tomorrow it will all be done," he admitted.
"I wouldn't like to elaborate at the moment but we're pleased to have given KG a chance to play some matches."
Crystal Palace coach Dougie Freedman is understood to have enquired about taking the former Golden Arrows captain on loan last month and the opening of the loan window last week has set the move in motion.
On Tuesday lunchtime, Palace owner Steve Parrish tweeted 'Finalising a loan as we speak' and Makaab confirmed that Dikgacoi's representatives were at Selhurst Park that day to discuss personal terms.
Dikgacoi will join a club struggling for survival in English football's second tier after going into administration last year.
'The Eagles' are currently three points clear of the drop zone having appointed former playing legend Freedman to take over from ex-Scotland boss George Burley in January.
Dikgacoi is expected to be in contention to play in Saturday's crucial home match against relegation rivals Sheffield United.
