Cape Town - Zimbabwe media officer Xolisani Gwesela Zifa said the country is NOT going to pull out of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.
This was in reaction to rumours of a pay dispute between national team players and the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA).
The players are reportedly owed R175 000 each and have said they will not train until the funds have been paid in full. In addition players are owed a R42 500 bonus for the 1-1 draw with Uganda.
ZIFA in return offered to pay R78 000 on Friday‚ which was allegedly rejected by the players.
On the pitch the team has performed relatively well‚ after a narrow 1-0 loss to hosts Egypt was followed by a 1-1 draw with Uganda.
Victory over DR Congo on Sunday (21:00 SA time) in their final Group A match would give them a chance of reaching the last 16.
