Cape Town - Legendary former Chelsea and Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho has praised Bafana Bafana for their performance in beating Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Bafana produced one of their best performances in years as they defeated the north Africans 1-0 courtesy of a late Thembinkosi Lorch goal.
The result sees coach Stuart Baxter's men advance to the quarter-finals where they are set to face Nigeria at the Cairo International Stadium on Wednesday.
Kick-off is at 21:00 SA time.
Nonetheless, Mourinho was scathing in his assessment of the Pharaoh's display and claimed that inspirational Liverpool winger Mo Salah showed signs of fatigue.
He told King Fut: "I watched the games in which Salah played last season. He is very tired, and that is normal after you play 60 games.
"When you are in possession, you cannot keep on passing the ball backwards.
"These are not (Javier) Aguirre's instructions. This only shows the players' mentality.
"South Africa were patient, disciplined and well-organised. On the other hand, Egypt were really disappointing."
