Cape Town - Bafana Bafana team manager Barney Kujane has explained that the national team are unhappy at Angola's last minute decision not to play them in a friendly.
Bafana were set to play the Sable Antelopes on Wednesday in Cairo as a preparation match for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
South Africa are in a tough group which includes Ivory Coast, Morocco and Tunisia but now will have had only one friendly match to prepare which came against Ghana.
Kujane explained the game was agreed upon and set to go ahead before the Angolans pulled out at the 11th hour due to a lack of fitness.
He said: "We are disappointed and frustrated. We had arranged this match three weeks ago and Angola confirmed everything in writing.
"We even had a meeting with their technical staff at our hotel yesterday afternoon [Tuesday, 18 June 2019], in which both teams reconfirmed the match and agreed on the rules of the practice game."
Bafana's first game at the AFCON is on June 24 against the Ivorians at the Al Salam Stadium in Egypt's capital.
Kick-off is at 16:30.
