Cape Town - AmaZulu goalkeeper coach Davies Phiri, who is also on the technical bench of the Zambian national team, said Chipolopolo expect to advance to the semi-final of this year’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Zambia are in one of the toughest groups at this year’s continental showpiece, as they will compete against the Democratic Republic of Congo, Cape Verde and Tunisia, all of whom are strong contenders to advance deep into the competition.
Should the Copper Bullets emerge from the group unscathed, many would consider their campaign a success, but Phiri said his squad would dream a lot bigger than that, despite the lack of experience in the team.
"For us it is more about the exposure for the young players that we have. They have the energy to run but a bit of experience is needed," Phiri told the AmaZulu website.
"Majority of them will be playing in this competition for first time in their careers. We have to beef the team with some experienced ones as well.
"However this will not stop us to challenge at least to finish in the semi-finals. We will be underdogs and surely that will motivate us more.
If you look at the history you will also notice that most teams that do well in this tournament have some young blood on their side," added a confident Phiri.
