Cape Town - Zambia goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene’s AFCON ambitions are back on track after he returned to action for a friendly match on Monday.
Mweene, who plays for South African top flight side Mamelodi Sundowns, hurt his groin in a 1-0 friendly defeat against Bafana Bafana on January 4.
But the Chipolopolo number one has quickly bounced back to fitness and took part in a friendly match against South African second tier side Witbank Spurs on Monday.
The game ended 2-0 to the Zambians, thanks to goals from Emmanuel Mayuka and Jackson Mwanza.
In other team news from the Chipolopolo camp, Rodrick Kabwe appears to be recovering from a bout of malaria and is also back in training.
The team is expected on Tuesday to depart their training camp in Johannesburg for their base in Equatorial Guinea.
