The 28-year-old, who was introduced late in the second half of the 2015 AFCON dress rehearsal said: “I am happy to have been given the opportunity to play against Mali.

“I think overall we played well, it was a team effort,” said Gcaba as quoted by Pirates official website.

“The match against Mali has given us the much needed confidence going into this prestigious African Cup of Nations tournament.”

Meanwhile teammate his Orlando Pirates teammate Thabo Matlaba mentions that the side is getting better as games go by.

“We are getting better every match we play but we still have to put in the work when our competition starts on Monday.

“I am very positive about where we are at the moment with our progress – the win against Mali and our performance in the match against Cameroon has given us the motivation and belief that we can do well in this tournament.”
