WP Nel breaks arm, Welsh joins Scotland squad

Cape Town - Newcastle prop Jon Welsh has been added to the Scotland squad after WP Nel, Tim Swinson and Rob Harley were ruled out through injury.

Nel and Swinson sustained an arm fracture and hand injury, respectively, in Saturday’s 44-38 win over Samoa at Murrayfield, each requiring further specialist assessment.

Wing Tommy Seymour injured his toe in the same match.

A MRI scan was performed at Spire Murrayfield Hospital, which confirmed that Seymour will require ongoing treatment by the Scotland medical team before returning to training this week.

Harley sustained a knee injury in training last week with medical assessment confirming he will take no further part in the autumn campaign.

He has returned to the care of his club's medical team.

Scotland will battle the All Blacks at Murrayfield on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 19:15 SA time.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
