Whiteley, Marx, Skosan back for Lions

Cape Town - Springbok captain Warren Whiteley finally makes a return along with four other Springboks for the Golden Lions XV in their SuperSport Rugby Challenge match against the Blue Bulls at the Bill Jardine Stadium in Johannesburg on Sunday.

Kick-off is at 15:00.

According to the supersport.com website, Whiteley, who has been out for several months now with a knee injury, returns along with Bok hooker Malcolm Marx, scrumhalf Ross Cronje and wing Courtnall Skosan as all look to gain some much needed match fitness ahead of a return to Super Rugby next week.

Whiteley and Marx are also looking to get fit again to rejoin the Springboks ahead of the Rugby Championship next month and their return will be much anticipated.

Skosan also is back from a knee injury and will take his place on the wing, while the other Springbok back is Ruan Combrinck, who featured in a few Super Rugby matches before the June break.

The rest of the team includes a number of the Super Rugby squad, including Madosh Tambwe, Lionel Mapoe, Howard Mnisi and Cyle Brink, with Corne Fourie and Jacques van Rooyen on the bench.
