WATCH: Robbie Wessels releases Pat Lambie song

Cape Town - Afrikaans singer Robbie Wessels has released a song and music video that pays tribute to retired Springbok Patrick Lambie.

The song, aptly titled 'Patrick Lambie', was released to Wessels' YouTube channel on Thursday.

The 28-year-old Lambie was forced to retire from professional rugby in January this year because of an ongoing battle with concussion symptoms that had plagued him ever since he was on the receiving end of a monster hit from Ireland's CJ Stander while on Bok duty back in June 2016.

Clearly a big fan, Wessels sings about Lambie being a "hero", an "ambassador", someone who "never gives up" and the fact that he will never be replaced.

Lambie, a Sharks legend, ended his career with Racing 92 in France while he played 56 Test matches for the Boks between 2010 and 2016.
