Cape Town - Jean-Luc du Preez was lucky to escape punishment for a dangerous cleanout while in action for the Sale Sharks this past weekend.
The 23-year-old is currently enjoying a loan spell at the English club along with his brother, Robert.
While Sale won their match against Bristol 27-10 on Saturday, footage emerged after the game showing Du Preez diving into a breakdown with his shoulder and clattering into Wallabies legend George Smith.
Former Fiji Sevens coach Ben Ryan shared the footage to his Twitter account and was outraged that it went unpunished.
"This is where we are at the moment," Ryan wrote.
"Look at just how utterly sh*t and illegal this clear out is ... obvious but unpunished."
Dan du Preez, meanwhile, is also on loan at the Exeter Chiefs. All three brothers are expected back in Durban to start the 2019 Super Rugby season with the Sharks.
