Cape Town - Springbok centre Jan Serfontein is fit and firing for Montpellier in France, and he was back to his best this past weekend.
The 25-year-old had been suffering from a rare outgrowth on his thigh that kept him sidelined since April.
He is back on the park now, though, and he was a try scorer in Montpellier's 23-20 win over Perpignan in the French Top 14 on Saturday.
Serfontein has 35 Test matches for the Boks since making his debut back in 2013, but he faces stiff competition to get back into the national set-up.
At the moment Damian de Allende and Andre Esterhuizen are sharing the inside centre responsibilities for the Boks, and with less than a year to go until the Rugby World Cup in Japan, it is hard to see Serfontein forcing his way in before then.
