Sydney - Australia will play a Test match against Samoa in western Sydney on September 7 just ahead of the team's departure for Japan and the Rugby World Cup.

Rugby Australia said on Monday the match at Parramatta will be Australia's fifth and final game of their build-up to the World Cup.

Australia's first match in Japan is against Fiji on September 21 in Sapporo. The Wallabies are playing in Pool D which also includes Wales, Georgia and Uruguay.

The Wallabies have played 17th-ranked Samoa five times, winning the first four before a 32-23 upset loss in Sydney in their last match in 2011.
