Swartbooi quits Boland for Bulls

Cape Town - The Boland Cavaliers are in need of a new coach after Dewey Swartbooi signed a deal with the Blue Bulls.

Swartbooi, a former Boland and Bulls centre, took over as interim head coach of Boland earlier this year when Abe Davids accepted a severance package following a long court battle with the union.

On Monday, Swartbooi’s name was listed as backline coach of the Blue Bulls’ Under-19 team when the union announced its management teams for the 2016 season.

It is believed that the Boland Rugby Union was not aware the he had signed a deal with the Bulls.

Boland had a torrid season, finishing second from bottom in the Currie First Division, with only two wins from 10 matches.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
