Cape Town - The Stormers are sweating over the availability of hooker Scarra Ntubeni.

According to Netwerk24, Ntubeni is struggling with a calf muscle injury which could prevent him from playing in their Super Rugby opener against the Bulls at Newlands on February 27.

Should Ntubeni fail to recover in time, Bongi Mbonambi will be the No 1 hooker in the Stormers camp, with former Baby Bok Michael Willemse also in the mix.

The Stormers have already suffered an injury blow with Springbok centre Damian de Allende will miss the first part of the season with an ankle injury.
