Star England centre major doubt for Bok tour

Cape Town - Outside centre Jonathan Joseph is a major doubt for England's June tour of South Africa after suffering an injury in the weekend's Premiership action.

Joseph was forced off the field in the 28th minute of the match between Bath and Saracens after his ankle was trapped underneath him during a collision with flank Schalk Burger.

The 26-year-old, who has played in 24 of the 28 Tests since Eddie Jones took charge, was seen on crutches post-match.

"Jonathan looks like he’s given his ankle a really good tweak and we’re not sure how long he’ll be out for. Hopefully, it won’t be too serious," Bath director of rugby Todd Blackadder told Sky Sports.

The Boks and England will play three Tests, starting on June 9 - some 7 weeks and 4 days from now.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
