South Africa’s oldest Easter rugby schools festival has been cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic sweeping the globe.

On Thursday, St Stithians College confirmed that its festival -
scheduled for 9-13 April - would not take place for the first time in 36
The schools that were due to participate in the festival this year were: St
Stithians (hosts), Bishops, Grey High, Jim Fouché, King David Linksfield,
Kingswood, Maritzburg College, Michaelhouse, Northcliff, Prince Edward
(Harare), SACS and St Andrew’s (Grahamstown).
Other Easter rugby festivals to fall victim to the Covid-19 threat are:
Kearsney College Easter Rugby Festival, was set to be hosted by the KwaZulu-Natal school from 9-13 April (cancelled)
North-South Festival, was set to be hosted by Hoërskool Waterkloof from 20-24 March (cancelled)
Wildeklawer Festival, was set to be hosted by Hoërskool Diamantveld from 24-27 April. Organisers said it could take place
later this year.
World Schools Festival, which was set to be hosted by Affies from 24-28 March (cancelled)
