Cape Town - Salie Fredericks, a former SARU rugby captain and star of non-racing rugby has passed away.
According to IOL , Fredericks, who played lock, featured in over 200 games for Western Province between 1963 and 1974.
He also received nine SARU caps during this period.
In 2014, the Springboks along with then coach Heyneke Meyer and SA Rugby President, Oregan Hoskins paid a visit to Fredericks .
Fredericks' funeral will take place on Friday, July 7. It will be held at 10 Jan Kemp Street in Plattekloof with the burial to be held at Muslim Cemetry in Browning Road, Observatory.
