Pau rest ex-All Black after three head knocks

Pau - Ex-All Black flyhalf Colin Slade will not play for his French club Pau until at least May 20 after suffering three head knocks since August, the Top 14 side announced Thursday.

Pau said in a statement that it wanted to take a zero risk policy with Slade, a two-time World Cup winner with New Zealand.

The 29-year-old, capped 21 times by the All Blacks and under contract with Pau until 2020, suffered head knocks last August, again in December and finally on March 4.

Should Pau, currently fifth in the Top 14, make the top six and qualify for end-of-season play-offs, which start on May 20, then the club would be in a position to call up Slade.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
