Oupa laid low by knee injury

Cape Town - The Cheetahs have a received a blow with the news that their Springbok loose forward Oupa Mohoje will be out of action for an extended period.

Mohoje, 25, injured his knee during a recent training camp with the Springbok Sevens squad in Stellenbosch and will be sidelined for three months.

Mohoje told Netwerk24 that Blitzboks coach Neil Powell wanted to pick him for the SARU Sevens Academy team for the Dubai International tournament.

The Dubai tournament, which takes place on December 4 and 5, will run concurrently with the opening round of the new World Rugby Sevens Series.

The injury means that Mohoje, who boasts eight Test caps, will miss the Cheetahs' preparations for next year’s Super Rugby competition.
