New job for Thelo Wakefield

Cape Town - Former Western Province president Thelo Wakefield has been appointed as the Leopards Rugby Union's new business director.

Leopards president Andre May confirmed the news to Netwerk24 over the weekend.

The report added that the decision had been taken by the Leopards directors earlier this month.

Wakefield, who left his Western Province role at the end of October last year, will assist the Leopards with their business decisions and transformation.

The Leopards are currently struggling financially, having moved away from their 99-year-old stadium Olën Park as they have been unable to pay for the necessary upkeep of the stadium.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
