Schickerling, who has represented his country at Under-18 and Under-20 level, suffered a broken neck in a provincial Under-21 clash against the Blue Bulls on August 30, 2014, but was cleared to make his return to action in October last year.

The 20-year-old's progress has been impressive, with the Stormers naming him as one of five locks in their training squad.

The others are Jan de Klerk, Pieter-Steph du Toit, Jean Kleyn, JD Schickerling.

Springbok lock Eben Etzebeth is still playing club rugby in Japan so will miss the trip to Wilderness.

The Stormers squad will travel to Wilderness on Tuesday and return to Cape Town on Saturday.
