Lambie injured in Sharks victory

Cape Town - The Sharks will be sweating over the fitness of captain Pat Lambie after defeating Toulon 29-21 in a warm-up match played at Stade Mayol in Toulon, France.

Lambie left the field deep into the first half with a shoulder injury that required his arm to be put in a sling.

The visitors outscored their French opponents by five tries to three and at one point early in the second half lead by 24-0.

According to Rugby365.com, the standout players for the Sharks were loose forwards Jean-Luc and Daniel du Preez who both crossed the whitewash during the match.

Although the Sharks had run up an significant lead, Toulon used their impressive forwards to work their way back into the match with their three tries - including one penalty try - all setup via mauls.

Although under pressure in the final minutes, the Sharks defence held firm to secure victory for the visiting South African side.
