Irish great O'Connell to leave Stade Francais

Paris - Former Ireland captain Paul O'Connell will leave his position as Stade Francais assistant coach at the end of the season, the club announced on Tuesday.

O'Connell, 39, has been in charge of the lineouts at the French outfit since the beginning of the campaign and the Parisians are eighth in the Top 14 table, a point away from the playoff places.

The former Six Nations winner said he did not plan to join another side despite reports in the Irish and French press linking him with a position at Toulon.

"I've decided not stay more than the one year of my contract and I don't envisage joining another club next season," he said in a statement.
