Heyneke Meyer extends Stade Francais stay

Cape Town - Stade Francais have announced that their head coach Heyneke Meyer has signed a two-year extension to his current contract that will keep him with the team until at least the end of the 2020/21 season.

Initially linked to the Top 14 club until June 2020, Stade have amended Meyer’s existing contract to sign a new commitment of two seasons (2019-2021), plus an optional year that will take effect from next July.

Club owner Dr Hans-Peter Wild said: “We have decided to extend Heyneke Meyer’s contract because he is the man for the situation to achieve our goals: to win the most prestigious trophies.

“He had a two-year contract and we decided to extend it so that he would always have those two years ahead of him to strive for excellence. I am very happy with his work. The club need to become more professional and need serenity to carry out our project.”
