Grenoble extend Taumalolo's contract

Grenoble - Grenoble on Thursday extended Tongan prop Sona Taumalolo's contract until 2017.

Recruited from Racing 92 in the offseason, the 34-year-old touched down in Grenoble after appearing at the Rugby World Cup.

The prop, who previously played for Perpignan and has been capped 20 times by Tonga, has since played seven Top 14 matches, starting five, and even notched up a hat-trick of tries in the European Challenge Cup.

A red card against Agen in the last round of Top 14 games will see Taumalolo miss this weekend's home league match against Racing.

Grenoble also announced the contract extension of New Zealander Steven Setephano.

The 31-year-old has become one of the driving forces of the Grenoble backrow after injuries to Henry Vanderglas and Fabien Alexandre, and will now be with the club until 2017.
