French club set sights on All Black centre

Cape Town - French club Clermont Auvergne are close to completing the signing of New Zealand utility back George Moala, according to reports in France.

Regional newspaper La Montagne claims that Clermont are on the verge of sealing a deal for the All Black, who can play centre and wing.

The 27-year-old has garnered four caps for his country, with the last coming back in their 40-29 defeat to Ireland in Chicago last year.

Moala has since been overtaken in the pecking order and it appears as though the Blues back will be plying his trade in Europe next season.
