Ford injury blow for Scotland

Cape Town - Head coach Gregor Townsend has added three Edinburgh forwards to the Scotland squad for the November Tests against Samoa, New Zealand and Australia.

Backrow Magnus Bradbury, prop Rory Sutherland and uncapped hooker Neil Cochrane – the latter a replacement for the injured Ross Ford – started training with the squad at Oriam on Monday.

Ford sustained a pectoral injury in training last week, with a scan at Spire Murrayfield Hospital confirming the injury required corrective surgery at Spire Shawfair Hospital.

Ford is expected to be out for around four months and has returned to the care of this club’s medical team.

The 33-year-old is Scotland's most-capped player of all time with 110 appearances to his name and his experience will undoubtedly be missed.
