Cheetahs home kit for 2016

Cape Town - The Cheetahs’ new jerseys for the 2016 Super Rugby season have been unveiled.

PUMA, the official technical and apparel partner of the Cheetahs, opted for a return to a traditional all-white home strip and an all-orange away strip.

The design celebrates the 2016 season being the first time the Free State Cheetahs will play as the sole custodians of the Cheetahs Super Rugby franchise, having shared the franchise with the Griquas and the Griffons for nine years.

The jersey sports a new logo of a sprinting Cheetah on the upper left chest and is further enhanced with a modern Cheetah watermark symbolising a new generation Cheetah player that has all the traditions associated with Free State rugby, but possesses skills, power and agility required by modern Super Rugby.

Cheetahs Managing Director, Harold Verster, commented: “PUMA has once again delivered an outstanding jersey, that brings together the traditions of the Cheetahs and the modern outlook on the game of rugby. We look forward to seeing the new generation Cheetah players make their mark in this year’s Super Rugby competition.”

PUMA South Africa’s Marketing Director, Brett Bellinger, commented: “It gives PUMA great pleasure to introduce the new kit design for the 2016 season - we know we have kept the fans waiting for this one and we hope that they like the design which symbolises the team moving into a new era. We wish the team and management all the best of PUMA luck for the coming season.”

The new Super Rugby jersey will be in PUMA stores and selected retailers from February 5 with the home replica (men’s and women’s) retailing for R749, children’s home replica available for R699 and the away kit for R749.
