Book wars: Jerome Kaino pranks Dan Carter

Cape Town - They may be on other sides of the world but that hasn't stopped loose forward Jerome Kaino from pranking his old All Blacks team-mate, Dan Carter.

According to the Stuff website, having both released biographies, the pair are going head-to-head in the Christmas present stakes among rugby fans this year.

And having seen a display stand full of Carter's book, Kaino decided to even the playing field.

Kaino posted a video on Instagram placing copies of his own book in front of Carter's along with the caption: "Having fun with my old mate today in Whitcoulls."

Carter will be hoping the shop assistants come to his aid considering he is now based in Paris.

Carter, who retired from international rugby after this year's Rugby World Cup, is now plying his trade for French Top 14 club, Racing 92.

Kaino, meanwhile, will be a key player for the Blues in next year's Super Rugby tournament.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
