Wales are preparing for their final Test of 2017, against South Africa, at the Principality Stadium and Faletau trained with them on Monday.
That has led to talk that he is in line to feature and with the fixture falling outside of the World Rugby Test window, Bath could be punished.
Bath face Exeter in the Premiership this weekend and with Rhys Priestland and Francois Louw back with the former and Tomas Francis returning to the Chiefs, the likelihood of number eight Faletau staying with Wales for the game against the Springboks in Cardiff appears strong.
Wales head coach Warren Gatland is due to name his starting XV on Thursday.
