Cape Town - All Blacks prop Nepo Laulala has used his scrummaging power to destroy New Zealand's world shot put champion Tom Walsh in a test of strength on a somewhat bizarre Japanese TV show.

According to the Stuff website, competitors in The Power Wall are required to push their opponents backwards across a finishing line with a sliding glass wall separating them.
The two Kiwis had worked their way to the final from a list of athletes including US Olympic sprinter Justin Gatlin, Russian gymnast Denis Ablyazin and Brazilian-American UFC fighter Wanderlei Silva.
Laulala, with a low body technique honed with the world champion All Blacks, got an early shunt on against Walsh and didn't relinquished his momentum, pushing his way to a comfortable victory.
The two had talked themselves up before the final.
"Every boy in New Zealand wants to play for the All Blacks growing up, I did myself as well. He's going to be tough to beat, but I think I can take it out," Walsh said.
"Ah, the medal's not going to help him win," Laulala said, with Walsh a bronze medal winner at the 2016 Rio Olympics before he won gold at last year's world championships in London.
