Stormers seek forwards coach to join Jones

Cape Town - The Stormers are looking for a forwards coach to join new head coach Eddie Jones ahead of the 2016 Super Rugby competition.

Jones, who coached Japan to an upset victory over the Springboks at the Rugby World Cup this past weekend, was on Monday officially named new Stormers coach.

Jones, 55, will arrive in Cape Town at the conclusion of his 2015 Rugby World Cup commitments with Japan.

WP Director of Rugby Gert Smal also confirmed that Robbie Fleck (attack) and Paul Treu (defence) will remain in their respective Super Rugby roles, but admitted that a new senior forwards coach could potentially join the coaching staff.

Matthew Proudfoot was the Stormers forwards coach over the last few years, but he has left to join former head coach Allister Coetzee in Japan.

Earlier media reports linked Lions forwards coach Russell Winter to the Stormers role, but he is still under contract with the Johannesburg team and WP would have to fork out a lot of money to gain his services.
