Mbalula pays tribute to Duif du Toit

Cape Town - South Africa's Minister of Sport and Recreation, Fikile Mbalula, has paid tribute to legendary photographer Duif du Toit who has passed away.

Du Toit died of an organ failure at a Johannesburg hospital.

“Some of the best pictures that recorded our historical moments in the sporting fraternity were captured by Duif du Toit, said Mbalula.

"His colleagues at Gallo Images know and respect him for his work ethic. It is for these reasons that a talented photographer like him was honoured in our sport awards; such award was a recognition of his excellence which he portrayed with every image he took.

"I am happy to have celebrated his good work while he was still with us. We send our deepest condolences to his family and friends. He will not be forgotten as we will remember him through the photographic memories he helped us capture,” Mbalula said.
