Cape Town - Japan coach Eddie Jones says he would be willing to enter into talks about coaching England if Stuart Lancaster is fired.
Lancaster’s future is in doubt after England became the first host nation to fail to progress beyond the group stages of a Rugby World Cup.
Ian Ritchie, the CEO of the English Rugby Football Union, has said a full review will now take a place, but no hasty decisions will be made.
Jones agrees that Lancaster deserves a fair review process, but has admitted he would consider the role if England came knocking.
“It’s not the sort of job I’ll go out chasing, but I’d certainly chat to them if they thought I was the right man for the role,” Jones wrote in a Daily Mail column.
Jones was recently appointed as Stormers head coach, and will arrive in Cape Town after completing his commitments with Japan at the Rugby World Cup.
