Brown posts passionate Twitter thanks

Cape Town - England fullback Mike Brown has thanked friends, family and his fiance for their support in the wake of the 2015 Rugby World Cup hosts' early exit from the tournament.

Brown was one of very few shining lights for England in their three matches at this year's tournament, despite being out-played by opposite number Israel Folau in Australia's 33-13 victory at Twickenham on Saturday.

Brown scored two tries in England's opening 35-11 win against Fiji at Twickenham, and was also at No 15 for their devastating 28-25 defeat to Wales a week later.

Brown, in a passionate Twitter post on Sunday, spoke about being "gutted" after "4 years of hard work" in preparation for the tournament.

England finish their World Cup commitments against Uruguay at the City of Manchester Stadium on Saturday, October 10 at 21:00 SA time.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
