Cape Town - The Springboks will wear black armbands in their Rugby World Cup clash against Samoa to honour the late former SARU deputy president Mike Stofile.
A Springbok team spokesperson confirmed the news to Sport24 on Friday.
Following the death of Stofile last Sunday, a request was made to World Rugby if the Boks could wear black armbands during the Samoa match.
The request was granted by the governing body earlier in the week.
Stofile was SARU vice-president for two years and deputy president for a further two until 2008 after holding the presidency of the Border Rugby Union.
The Springboks have never lost to Samoa in eight previous Tests, with the South Africans winning the last encounter 56-23 in Pretoria in 2013.
However, the last time the two nations clashed at a World Cup was in New Zealand four years ago when the Boks sneaked a 13-5 win.
The match, scheduled for 17:45 (SA time) on Saturday, will be played at Villa Park, the home of English football team Aston Villa.
