Cape Town - The Springboks will face Wales in the Rugby World Cup quarter-finals, if local bookmakers are to be believed.
After their 64-0 win over America on Wednesday, Heyneke Meyer’s men finished top of Pool B to qualify for the quarter-finals.
The Boks will have their eyes fixed on Saturday’s clash at Twickenham between Australia and Wales (17:45 SA time), with the loser scheduled to face South Africa at the same ground the following weekend.
The Wallabies will go into the match as favourites and local bookmakers, sportingbet.co.za, have predicted a 7-point win for Australia.
Wales have a pretty bleak recent record against Australia, having lost their last 10 encounters.
Their record against Australia in World Cup games is not much better, with Wales' lone win over the Wallabies in five matches at the global showpiece event coming in a third-place playoff during the inaugural 1987 edition in New Zealand.
Overall, the two nations have duelled 38 times, with Australia winning 27 to Wales’ 10, with one match ending in a draw.
Should the status quo remain on Saturday, the Boks will face Wales in the quarter-finals at Twickenham on Saturday, October 17.
