London - The Springboks and All Blacks have spoken of their intense rivalry on the field and their close friendship off it.

As much was clear at Twickenham on Saturday night...

The All Blacks booked their spot in the final of the 2015 Rugby World Cup with a 20-18 victory.

As the final whistle sounded, replacement All Blacks centre Sonny Bill Williams, instead of celebrating with his team-mates, found his distraught-looking Springbok counterpart Jesse Kriel sitting against a goal post and offered him words of encouragement - and a hug - before helping him to his feet.

Classy.

Kriel, at 21 years of age, has a bright future in the game. Here's hoping he appreciated the magnitude and timing of the gesture and when the time comes and the roles are reversed, does likewise.
