Cape Town - The Blue Bulls Company (Pty) Ltd is pleased to confirm that lock Paul Willemse has agreed terms with them and will join the Bulls ahead of next year’s Super Rugby season.
The Junior World Cup winning lock is currently playing at the Golden Lions and will start camp in Pretoria on November 1, 2012.
Willemse was one of the stand-outs in the Junior Boks team that won the IRB Junior World Championship earlier this year and at 127kg and 2.00m, will bring a lot of physicality to the Bulls.
Commenting on the signing, Bulls coach, Frans Ludeke, said he was very impressed by what he saw of Willemse this far.
“He is clearly enjoying his rugby at the moment and one can see that in his efforts on the field. He is a big, strong man and loves the physical aspects of being a lock, something that should fit in perfectly at the Vodacom Bulls.
We are delighted to get him on board and I believe he will do very well with us,” the coach said.
