Watson becomes a dad

Cape Town - Bath flank Luke Watson has announced that he and his wife Elaine are celebrating the birth of their first child.

Watson, who will be leaving Bath for the Eastern Province Kings before the 2011 Rugby World Cup, confirmed the couple’s good news on Twitter, writing: Noa Grace Watson was born at 1am on the 22nd of March! She is healthy and beautiful. She is the greatest gift I could ever physically hold!!

In his next Tweet he paid tribute to his wife: Elaine is up and about and doing great! She was an absolute warrior and fought her way through it! She became my hero last night. So proud.

Watson had confirmed in November last year that they were expecting a girl and turned to Twitter yet again for suggestions of names.
